Lots of people realize she's insane, but the religious right thinks that this is what will happen under nationalized healthcare.

Ironically, what they use to support this thesis are clippings and links to stories in the UK tabloids that greatly exagerate fuck ups in the UK health system.

Very ironic - considering those clips come from right-wing rags tryign to score points off the Labour govt. The NHS is not perfect, but it's less imperfect than any system that would send someone home to die because their insurance ran out.

Exactly.

Though I will say that the UK tabs do these stories all the fucking time.

The AP responded yesterday, and this was posted on Yahoo, which skews conservative, in my book:

To say Yahoo skews conservative is a bit of an understatement in my book. The headlines there will actually say the exact opposite of what the text underneath them says, if the story itself isn't to their liking.

"OBAMA SLAUGHTERS INNOCENTS"

AP (Washington) -- Today President Barack Obama killed a fly during an interview.

It doesn't bother me that Sarah Palin is insane. What bothers me is that the mainstream media reports on her and her ilk (Rush, BillO, Hannity, etc.) as if they are just "the other point of view," rather than pointing out that what they are saying ISN'T TRUE and they are deliberately misleading people. The entire GOP has become Ann Coulter, which is why you don't hear as much from her lately.

That article from AP that CW quotes is the first time I've seen anything more mainstream than Comedy Central or MSNBC actually report the facts. Of course at this point, it's too late ( ... )
