I almost understood why Angelo killed Jack and betrayed him like that. But the part where he expects Jack to take him back... cold chills.

The Jack/Gwen convo was fucking INTENSE.

I've already got two posts on this ep and I'll probably be doing more because there's so much to talk about!

Voila! Eve Myles freckles tag!

This was just... a kind of creepy episode. It wasn't intense in the same way the last two were but it had that creeping sense of something won't go well here. UGH ANGELO YOU JERK.

I don't think this Jack from the past. This has to be Jack from after CoE. He's got the coat, he's got the functioning wrist strap. He couldn't have the coat if this was his first time around on Earth after Bad Wolf and POTW, and the wrist strap was on the fritz back then, and he speaks about living many lives both in the past and in the future. So... it's got to be "our" timeline Jack.

Still wondering about that alternate timeline though.

For me the biggest tip off to it being post-COE Jack was when he called himself a Fixed Point. Jack didn't know that until he met up with Ten again.

No, the first time he heard that was definitely with Ten.

There's a point where Angelo "saves" Jack at which it really just looks like Jack's thinking "Okay, this is never going to work, fuck this shit" like he's decided he'd try one last time and nope. Not this time either.

ESPENSONNNN!

Agreeing with you there. I was all, "wait, he didn't know he was a fixed point before seeing Ten!"

• Love Jack coming to, in the car. And I adore Gwen's "you'll never get out of those knots." all I could think was, if she was the expert at knots, WHY did she let Rhys tie Rex up in episode one?

And wasn't there a shot later of Jack's bound hands? Which were bound with a zip tie? Those aren't the most elaborate knots there, Agent Cooper.

I say she was trying to help him boost his manly confidence. Not that Rhys needs boosting but she had to carry the gun and baby so... ;)

I don't know what I think about Angelo... I'm definitely suspicious that he was more than he appeared to be from square one. It wasn't until I was thinking about it later that it seemed weird that a guy from a small Italian village on the cliffs would be such a good pickpocket/good at spotting forged visas. When Jack showed off with his wriststrap, Angelo may have seen an opportunity. Also -- when he rescued Jack near the end, and Jack asked him about the three men who'd bought him, one of my first thoughts was to wonder if it was Angelo who sold him. I think it might have been.

Of course, for this theory to hold any water at all, Angelo would have to be one hell of an actor, and I'm not sure his assumption that Jack will stay with him after all of that jives with it ( ... )

Jack totally makes a habit of picking up guys by landing on them

I wonder the same, Angelo seems like a version of Jack (telling stories, wanting more) and uh, hello creep not letting Jack leave without him?

I think he's in cahoots with the gruesome threesome.

There needs to be a Jack/Esther comm or brigade or something. There has to be more of us out there. That pairing needs to happen. It would be cute and hot and perfect.

HAHA I can't honestly see Esther and Jack as anything more than buddies ... it'd be like watching a brother/sister or something. lmao.
