I looked up Asterion - that bit was a complete fluke! I just needed a reason for them to not have torches on them.

I love the parallel of the Hub and the Labrynth, and I was also really delighted by this line:

However, it’s not quite as big as the Time Agency bases on the moon and Mars will be. (Were. Whatever; Jack just doesn’t know, anymore.)

It's hard to pin down what it is that thrills me about that, but I love this view of the future; of Jack's past; of what's in Jack's head, that he draws this comparison. It's like looking out a window from Torchwood to all the time and space and civilisations in the Dr Who universe.
