Minotaur
by Laura

The Torchwood Three Hub is one of the most cavernous, labyrinthine, rabbit-warren-like places Jack has ever been in. It’s certainly bigger than numerous hotels, hospitals and houses he’s visited.

However, it’s not quite as big as the Time Agency bases on the moon and Mars will be. (Were. Whatever; Jack just doesn’t know, anymore.)

It is still really easy to become hopelessly lost in the Hub, as Jack has discovered on more occasions than he cares to remember.

This time, in a concerted effort to not get lost, Jack and Owen will be doing a Theseus. Armed with a reel of luminous metal string and a kind of stun gun, both courtesy of the Rift, they’ll mark their way, and stun an escaped alien that apparently becomes violent on torchlight. Then they will retrace their steps, using the glowing string.

Well, theoretically, that’s what’s going to happen.

Knowing their luck, the alien will stun one of them, roll up all the string and just vanish into thin air.

Jack really doesn’t fancy that prospect, and before they set off down the dark and gloomy corridor, he checks his earpiece. “Ianto? Can you hear me?”

”Loud and clear, sir,” Ianto replies, from the offices.

Then they’re off to proverbially kill the bull-headed man.

And to hopefully avoid getting very, very lost in their own maze.

-end-

lost in the hub
