Hi, this might cause some problems as the new ianto_bigbang recently set up a schedule with almost the same dates, I know a few people on my flist has signed up for that, maybe post a poll to see if writers are up for two BBs at the same time?
I can't link you to the new BB, but it's in my watchlist

Thanks for pointing this out, but we're aware of the ianto_bigbang challenge because we talked to them beforehand. We won't be changing the dates because we're not an exclusive Ianto Big Bang challenge, we're open to all of Torchwood fandom/characters. Hopefully people will want to participate in both.

Will you be writing? *looks hopeful*

Yes, I will be. I've been told it's not optional for me by my fellow mods.

And when will be the artist claim?

After last year and a number of complaints we received about the blind claiming we've decided to pair the authors with the artists based on what the artists are interested in. There will be a form for artists to fill in about their preferences regarding genre, pairing, characters etc. during sign ups.

Ok.
It looks like in this comm the complain rate is very high. :-) Good luck with your work!

I can't imagine why there were complaints about blind claiming. You get a summary of a story and you claim off of that, artists get to choose what they work on and I can't see that being a bad thing. I've done art here 2 years running and never ran into any trouble ( ... )

Sorry, but I won't be participating this round, mainly because of the blatant promotion you guys are doing for series four. I understand that there are a lot of people who are looking forward to it, but there are those who aren't and I feel you're pandering to them and are insulting to those of us who don't want to have anything to do with it. Why can't the comm promote all of the series instead of just one part?

We're sad that you won't be participating this round and I'm sorry you feel this way but when I made the layout for the journal I never meant it as a blatant promotion for series four. I used the bomb because it tied in well with Big Bang theme and wasn't character specific.

We're hoping to see fic from across all four seasons, and I, myself, am planning on writing fic set just after the end of series 2.

I understand your point, but I don't want to have anything to do with Series Four, including the promotional materials. It might go with the Big Bang theme, but it does send a signal you might not want to send. I already feel marginalized by certain members of the fandom for not wanting to have anything to do with Miracle Day, and I have also been insulted. So you can see why I just don't want to see it.

I'm sorry that you've been insulted due to your opinions regarding Miracle Day but we're inclusive of all four seasons at the Torchwood Big Bang. I'd recommend trying the ianto_bigbang as their focus is on pre Miracle Day fic.

Can we ad gag and run away over the new layout?

Count me out because I refuse to have anything that promotes S4 especially the layout.

Also even if the layout was more friendly to all series of Torchwood, two big bangs with dates so close will be difficult and I prefer the more classic Torchwood-friendly even if Ianto centric big bang. As I said the layout makes me feel uncomfortable and it discounts earlier TW seasons.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't want to participate.

The layout wasn't created with the intention of promoting S4, or to offend anyone. The promo image was used because the bomb ties in well with the big bang.

We're not trying to actively promote S4, or exclude people who don't wish to be involved with Miracle Day, but likewise this challenge isn't going to exclude people who are interested in writing fic for Miracle Day; it isn't a classic Torchwood challenge and we invite people to write fics & create art from all four series.

Good luck with the Ianto Big Bang.

I just wanted to let you know, I think the layout's really cute. It's a big bang!

Sadly, if I sign up for one more writing commitment this summer, my head will be the one exploding. I may sign up for artists, though. I can make halfway decent art. Just to support the comm. :)

Aw, thank you. I'm glad you like the layout.

An exploding head would not be a good thing, but the more artists the merrier. Hopefully you'll decide to sign up. :)
