you know i l♥ve Torchwood but...

Torchwood US?! ...really?

...if there's something i love about Torchwood is that it is very British (and the homoerotism, duh! xD) I guess that if they work with a proper cast it could work... still, if it happens i'm tuning in just because is Torchwood, but i'm not expecting much.

character: ianto jones, actor: gareth david-lloyd, fandom: torchwood, about me, actor: john barrowman, pairing: janto, character: captain jack harkness

I don't know why the americans always wants to do remake.
Of course Torchwood is very british, that's why the show is amazing (and because of the actors too indeed ^^), I mean, it's Cardiff ! And Torchwood's storyline are just so interesting... and it's connected to DW too... ! If they do a Torchwood US, maybe i'll watch by curiosity but I don't think it's gonna be a great show... !
Why do they not simply put the UK version on American TV? I mean, same language and most important, there is this part of dream because it's not the same country.
It's sure or just a rumor?

By The way, I don't know if you know Shameless (one of my favorite tv show) but they're doing a american version of it too... so i'm scared xD

I think i'm going to cry because of this new xD !! But thanks for the information ^^

So would Torchwood US be a remake or a spinoff?

I was never really a huge fan or torchwood in the first place honestly. Im not sure
I like the idea of american appropriating the Doctor Who universe though.

Talking of remakes did you know they have made a US version of Death at a Funeral?
That movie came out in 2007? Can you freaking believe it!?

I guess on a positive note James Marsden is playing Alan Tudyk's character. Naked James ftw. :D

From what I've read I don't think it's going to be a remake I think they are going to expand and have Torchwood fly over here for several episodes. I may have read it wrong. If it is going to be a remake than it won't be so good. I like my Torchwood just the way it was before Ianto's death and very British.

Well I just read the new article and I don't think a US version is going to go over well. Plus FOX sucks and cancels all the good shows right away if they don't produce high ratings on bad nights. For example The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse.

yeah, FOX and sci-fi reaaaally don't get along, even Fringe is tanking and i think it used to work for them.

Maybe if they give us another couple as Jack/Ianto i could tune in.

I don't actually watch Torchwood *hides from the booing* but if Fox does it, I'm imagining every character as straight as an arrow, with maybe the one token gay guy/girl. American programing always shys away from the true homoeroticness. Shame, really, because sooo many shows would be better with a little (or a lot) guy on guy action.

i'm crossing my fingers and hoping RTD demands some freedom about that. torchwood is not Torchwood without the homoerotiscm!

Is it def happening or just talk?
I agree with you, I love the aspects of it that are very British, hmmm. I'll watch out of curiosity but it would have to ~really work.

RTD and Julie Gardner have written the script and presented it to FOX, now is up to FOX to greenlight it. they might or might not pick it up.
