He'd been a child the day the demon came - taller than houses - taller than the multi-storey his mother had parked in even - and he remembers an icy cold, crawling closer - eating the air, before his mother had shoved him under their car - screaming at him to stay down and don't move and- he hadn't.
Not for a long time.
When he'd dared to look mummy'd been... sleeping.
Running away he'd seen 'them' running toward: she was older now - still beautiful - but he - Captain Harkness - had hardly aged a day.
He shook the hand of his new boss and smiled.
