Curtis wonders if he's going paranoid. Like any day now Newbie's going to hand him the divorce papers and he'll be stuck watching TV with...with Nathan. Or worse, the cats. "What's the matter with'em?" Newbie asks him, his first words upon entering the rec room. Frooty O's are meant to be enjoyed at maximum speed - something about all that sugar hitting the system at once. To let them languish, ignored and sodden in a bowl is....well, "It's a crime!" Newbie declares as he sits down. "Unless it's got cat hair in it. Does it got cat hair in it?"

Curtis's startled out of his reverie by Newbie's never ending enthusiasm. He grumbles and looks over, and remembers, oh yeah. Building relationships. He even talked to Leoben.

"No," he says, looking down at the bowl in surprise. "I forgot about them. Dammit!"

"I'll get you some more," says Newbie, and though he looks worried - Curtis never forgets about Frooty O's - there's a touch of eagerness there, too. Drinking the milk from a spent bowl of Frooty O's is the best part, and cat hair or no, there's no reason to let that go to waste.

"No, I can get them myself," Curtis says like he's dying. He knows about Newbie's penchant for drinking the sugary milk, which is disgusting if you ask Curtis, so he hands over the bowl. "You can have this."
