So, I'm going laptop hunting while I'm here in the computer lab. Any suggestions?

And god damnit, it's too hot. D:

And I think I owe meggo87 a serious apology. Sorry man.

yes, get a macbook or macbook pro, if that price is an option. I have a thinkpad w/ the same hardware as the core duo macbook pros, and it's pretty amazing. Except the thinkpad is really not as good as the macbook pro. Seriously, won't need a new computer until at least the time of graduation if you get a macbook pro + warranty.

Oh totally. I'm running on a Macbook Pro (15.4") right now and I've had, like, NO problems with it... save for my memory kind of sucking, but that's just iTunes being a big, fat resource hog (Songbird is a great all-platform alternative to iTunes).

While the Pros are really nice, I wouldn't recommend it if you're NOT going to be doing a lot of heavy duty gaming or artworking. If you're just going to chill on the internet and make an icon here and there, I'd go with just the regular MacBooks (really, the little screens are adorable).

I guess my only gripe about the new Core Duo processors is that Adobe hasn't made new software formatting for that processor; instead, I'm using Photoshop CS1 formatted for the PowerPC G4 chips, and thus have to run Photoshop through an emulation software. It's kinda like when OSX first came out, and you had to boot up a lot of programs in Classic Mode because they weren't built for the new OS.

...I'm rambling. D: Shutting up now.

I almost got that exact computer XD.

Yeah, that photoshop thing is pretty lame. I have a mini core duo and using photoshop on it under rosetta makes me an angry, angry person XD. Although it's still better than using photoshop on an ibook.

I really dunno what to recommend. Maybe a Gateway; I've got one, and it works like a dream. Although those Apple laptops are nice, too. Do whatever you think is best, Tony. Hope you find the one you want!

Also? Sorry about your last laptop dying. DD:
