Heat wave

The heat is really terrible this time, even though it has always been hot at this time of the year for the past few years. I possibly didn't suffer so badly from it, coz during the first couple of weeks back from Hokkaido when it started turning hot, I was down with the flu and the fever kind of gave me the chills which made me numb to the heat. It

I think bigger dogs feel it alot more than the smaller ones...

My dog has been very listless too, and I try to walk him late at night, when the ground is cooler (the pavement on our stretch gets full afternoon sun, and even in the evening, the pavement feels warm on my bare feet).

I try to blend watermelon and mix it with chilled water (half & half), just to encourage him to drink more. Or even very very mild honey water.

After every walk, I wipe him down with a chilled towel (i put a damp towel in the chiller) so that he won't feel soo uncomfortable.

I was home during the past weekend and i put him in the tub, together with his toys, for a comfy soak. I think for bigger dogs, maybe a nice cool shower will oso do the trick.

It's only May and the hot spell looks like it's here to stay till at least september... sigh.....

as long as there are the occasional showers, i hope it would help to take away that heat at some point of the day. thanks for your suggestions anyway, will try some of them out.

Yeah man, its hot nowadays. I sweat just by sitting in front of my study lamp. So take care of yourself, ya. Drink lotsa water
