Mine is a steady hum all of the time. In fact, I thought it was the buzzing of insects or electricity through the florescent lighting at work until I realized there is no insect buzzing in the winter and asked the doctor. It's easier to ignore during the day or if I'm reading or watching tv or something.
It's much worse in the quiet at night and contributes to my insomnia. :(
Sorry you have that to deal with. Mine is recent and associated with concussion. Recent consult with neurologist, he didn't want to know about it! Total waste of time, travel and parking fees. GP will be told I am not impressed.
True. Though I saved considerable time and trouble through access to a GP for prescription. Mind you pharmacy managed to lose RX and I had to call her back. was annoyed

I have Tinnitus too. I hate it so much. The worst part is never ever having quiet. *sigh*
