Good things- windows and walls that don't pour heat outside; wood stove is now safely installed- ie meets government standards, walls are lovely, grout has happened.

Bad things- still lots of tarps covering stuff, pictures and china in my bedroom, no space to do stuff- crafts, sewing; bookcase is behind tarps and

I must somehow have missed the post re. you having found two possible companions for Brambling. That's good news!
Cranky doesn't seem much better than Spanky, does it? But you could call him/her Pancake...

I had a lightbulb moment -realised Bram might not get into as much trouble if she had a companion- will be choosing one. It seems that it's not uncommon to rename dogs- works out fine. Can't tell until I see the dog though.

very true- I have that experience as well. Rudie! laughs- makes me think about my dad- we had a friend who sang- Ruby don't you take your love to town- with some alternate lyrics- Dad loved it.

Most dogs think their name is No or Get Off You Idiot. Renaming should offer no trouble. Choose a name, say it and give dog treat. Repeat about ten times and voila! Dog has new name. They're simple souls after all. I'm pretty sure Chester had a different name prior to your rescuing him from the pound. BTW, that was some serious ninja stuff cutting the wires and defeating the alarms and all. Lol
