Astilbes are the pain in my gardening butt, but it's not me killing them. It's the damn moles. *glares at sightless rodents*

My sister had the similar problem with a flower I whose name I can't recall at the moment- she finally was able to get them to grow last year. Not sure what to do with moles though. hugs

Rhubarb is wonderful. I am keen on microwaving it as it (a) keeps its shape and doesn't go stringy and (b) is a lot quicker than baking it. Alas, here in the benighted south I cannot get rhubard Longley Farm yoghurt (ingredients, rhubarb, yoghurt, sugar*), which is one of the most wonderful puddings/breakfasts in the world.

*They don't put sugar in all the yoghurts, but you can't have rhubarb without it.

I haven't nuked rhubarb before- will try. I usually cook it in a small amount of water and sugar on the stove. You could probably buy unsweetened yogurt and add sugar, or make your own yogurt. Must try the combination soon.
