A miracle

I really needed something to cheer me up today. My caseload sucks- low numbers = low paycheck. Got to hustle my butt to keep the moola coming in, so I can take the time off for surgery. I have un-employment sick leave- but it has a two week waiting period and pays not very much. Will call nursing home and see if they need some part-time nurses. Had a bad sleep last night and feel like dirt.

So when I opened the door to let Bram in from her morning run, I glanced at the partly done full sun garden bed and lo and behold, I have finally NOT killed a rhubarb plant. It's growing - lots of lovely shoots.

Back story. I love rhubarb. Over the years I have bought numerous roots, had roots donated and each time FAIL. Last year a lovely man offered me some rhubarb and green onions from his garden, he was trying to cut his garden back, as it was getting too much for him.. In desperation, I planted one in the flower bed and one in a spot more suitable for fruits/vegetables. At the end of last summer it appeared that I had killed two more. I must check the jungle garden for that one.
