I did not have spicy chicken. Sweetie, it was just me, since I feel like the entire university had already left by the time I was still a day off from my flight.
There isn't a P.F. Chang's in Portland because Portlanders would rather have something unique, something local. It's why we have a million excellent bakeries no one else has--Pearl, Grand Central, Marsee, Beaverton; you get the idea--and lots of other little restaurants, and not many big chains. It's why we have Burgerville when nobody else does, and why nobody batted an eye when the people who ran the Johns Landing NoHo's franchise decided to buy out the franchise and stake out on their own-- the Bamboo Grove Grill.
You're just pitifully desperate for something you can't have. Hmm. You might as well get used to it and enjoy what Portland has to offer, which is quite a bit -- try Saucebox or Dragonfish sometime, they're quite good and similar to P.F. Chang's.

I just know what I'm missing out on. It's not like I can mourn the food's death -- it's still out there, the catch is that I can't have it. So I am desperate... I miss the Manhattan Beach Brewery and La Hacienda and P.F. Chang's and all the other places we used to go. (And In-n-Out. Your brother kept talking about it on the way to Burgerville the other day and it was so sad... such yummy memories. You just can't compare anything to it and expect fair competition.)

I'm sorry about Almost Famous. I know how that feels.
Miss you.
