This boat is a terrible place. I don't mean the boat is terrible ... it is sheltering us from ... whatever happened. But the captain is being selfless in his own ... strange way ... giving salvation to those who don't deserve it or are too dangerous to keep around. Everyone should be on their guard ... more so than usual I think.
I guess ... if there's anything that can be said about him ... he's fair. That is a virtue ... to be Just. I guess I had always thought of justice as something that is "good", and that bad people didn't deserve justice. But maybe that's the point?
[She pauses and takes in a breath.]
Has anyone thought much about their faith here? Does all of this disprove or prove anything? I ... never learned how to speak to the spirits ... that's out of my ability ... so I can't say for sure if they're here or not.
There are so many religious texts in the library. Many from the same worlds. All of them cannot be right ... so can any?
[There is a longer pause, and when her voice comes back it sounds like her normal chipper self.]
If anyone's looking to forget about the darker parts of this ship ... come on by Sergei's. You can eat, drink, and or listen to music ... whichever will make you feel better. I still don't have any songs of my own to sing, but I think I've learned a fair bit of things to do on the guitar, I should be able to play something you like.
