[Audio]This boat is a terrible place. I don't mean the boat is terrible ... it is sheltering us from ... whatever happened. But the captain is being selfless in his own ... strange way ... giving salvation to those who don't deserve it or are too dangerous to keep around. Everyone should be on their guard ... more so than usual I think

In my world, there are different Deities. There's no one 'religion', but each Deity asks for something different from their followers, and has different ethics, as well as some universal ones.

So... perhaps they're all right? In a sense.

That's more how my world works ... pray to the spirit of the road before you travel, to the spirit of your house when you come home, to the spirits of the weather to bring good rain ... I don't know if there are any spirits here. My magic still works ... but I make my own mana, I don't need the spirits to help me.

But one some of the other worlds out there ... there's religions that say they're the only ones that are right and that you have to worship their god and no one elses ... cause according to them the other gods don't exist.

Not quite the same as my world... but that doesn't make it any less valid. Our Deities weren't originally in our plane, so it's entirely possible that all these things co-exist.

[Spirituaaaal.] The Deities have a bond with the people of Askoupur. Without it, they would fade away from our world, and we would be vulnerable again and lose the gifts they've given us. It's of mutual benefit to both parties to keep the bond strong.

[She pauses again.] That's... [Incomprehensible to her.] Quite narrow-minded of them, if not outright wrong.

Yeah ... well ... it seems that their gods don't make themselves known enough. Their believers don't believe in them ... but Earth has people called "atheists" who simply don't believe in any gods. That's hard for me to imagine ... on my world, if you walk to the right part of the forest, you can meet the Lady Oak for yourself, you don't have to "believe".

[She thinks for a bit.]

I was never very faithful back home ... I mean I was raised to know Chivalry ... but now I really wish the church had some influence over people. Back home, even the bad guys had some amount of decorum.

I think any religion has the possibility to be right if people truly believe in them. Some religions being right doesn't make other religions any less real for others.

As long as those right religions aren't saying that everyone else is wrong ... that's the part I'm having a hard time understanding.
