[Audio]This boat is a terrible place. I don't mean the boat is terrible ... it is sheltering us from ... whatever happened. But the captain is being selfless in his own ... strange way ... giving salvation to those who don't deserve it or are too dangerous to keep around. Everyone should be on their guard ... more so than usual I think

Well, whatever you say. I--uh, I picked up some stuff for you recently. When can I bring it by?

Whenever you'd like hun. I'm either in my room or at Sergei's ... nothing much else to do around here other than be.

Sergei's. I'm setting things up ... maybe someone will come listen today.

[Gideon only take a few short minutes to gather up the few things he'd manage to find after hours of scouring Deck 12. Then he walks down to Sergei's with a vase of red roses in one hand and a small wrapped box in the other. When he spots Kate he sits down next to her.]

Look... girl. Don't get down because of our small audience. Things here don't work like they do back on my world, not to mention that the... demographic of people who actually care about music here is significantly smaller.

The important thing is that we enjoy what we're doing.

That's ... not what I'm feeling low about ... it's everything else.

[She took in a deep breath and smiled at his presants.]

So I'm trying to focus on everything else. Just ignore the bad stuff ...

[And start looking for ways to fix it too.]

Those flowers are beautiful ... are those carnations or roses? I forget ...

[Gideon smiles a little bit when she does, holding them out to her.]

They're roses. I dunno. I thought you'd like the red color-- it was an educated guess. And, uh-- here. Another little present.

[He holds the box up too. It's wrapped in... well, paper. He couldn't find any wrapping paper, give him a break orz.]

I like them ... they remind me of Starlies back home ...

[She grins and takes the box from him and looks it over before unwrapping the paper.]

[Gideon puts his hands on his knees and watches as she goes about unwrapping the gift. Inside she'll find a small copper necklace.]

I'm sorry this isn't much... scouring Deck 12 is a lot harder than just going to a store and picking something out. I'll look around more later.

But maybe you and I should do something to take your mind off all your recent troubles. I would suggest a moonlit walk through the forest, but... I've heard there are still some poisonous vines there. Don't wanna risk it.

Top deck is nice ... I like the pool. I think it's heated ...

And it's beautiful. Did you pick copper cause it's red too?

[She smiles bigger at him and then hands him the necklace and turns around, lifting her hair out of the way.]

Ohhh, the pool sounds like a good idea. You with the swimsuit... me with the watching you in the swimsuit...

[He smiles lopsidedly and then takes the jewelry, looping it around her neck easily.]

Ee! It's a little cold now ...

[She giggles and puts her hair down, then grins at him as she turns around.]

Swimsuit hu? Now how's that better than just going to your room?

We go to my room after the pool, of course. Preferably my shower, it feels good to get all the chlorine off. But there's no reason we can't have a bit of fun from a different vein before all that. I do enjoy swimming, haven't done it since the island.

Well then you can teach me. I'm still not very good ... you know with water.

[She giggles.]

... But you can swim at least a little bit, right? Man, it's too bad I never got the chance to show you how to surf. Oh well.
