Guh, Barcelona! About 25 people from my class went there on a trip about three years ago. We had so much fun and it is beautiful and quirky, thank you, Gaudi.

Am going to Rome in May.

Live on the same island as the Giant's Causeway and I don't believe I've ever seen it - do you know the myth surrounding it?

i really want to go for the sagrada familia. that's honestly all i need to see.

yay! i loved rome, even tho i lost half a day because i had to go back to the airport because my suitcase got hung up in PARIS. shee. if you're at all interested in the creepy, the capuchin crypt really wigged me out but cicirossi and interlock who i went with LOVED IT. i however had to leave.

i do. i plan to walk out as far as i can and throw stones at the water and imagine finn maccool building a bridge to his girlfriend.

Sagrada Familia = best thing. We went up the towers. Views awesome. Guh. Loved it even with a hangover.

Ahh, I remember being told a different myth when I was a kidlet in school, to do with a Scottish giant although Fionn McCumhaill was pivotal to the whole Giant's Causeway myth.

i plan to be blissfully unhungover partly because i expect to get sick. because i always catch a cold or something when i travel. >.< and there will be climbing, oh yes there will.

maybe i don't know the myth after all.... i learned he had a giant girlfriend on this scottish island (unless it was the scottish coast... she was scottish, anyway) and built the causeway to get to her.

I'm in the same boat. Canada only. And I'm tired of hearing D talk about Paris, London, Dublin, Sydney, Rome, Florence, Mexico.....

I love Gaudi too. Color me envious.

You could come to DeKalb and I could make you gnocchi with pesto. It ain't Italy, but we processed literally a bathtub full of basil this year. :)

this reminds me - I really need to tell you that, unless I'm in a new job, I can only take off for a week 23rd Sept to 1st Oct or 4th to 12th November. But if you go to spain or ireland in october, I'm coming over for a weekend because - yoooo.

well, crap. the first week conflicts with rosh hashanah and austin city limits, and the second week... uh... is there a rainy season in spain? i don't mind going in november, actually.

I think this is how come we ended up in Venice in november last time. I'm sorry! It doesn't mean you have to go in November if it's going to rain on your trip - I can come and join you for a weekend in one city.
