We survived 40ºC! Mainly by hiding indoors with curtains shut but still. It was actually more unpleasant the following couple of days when it was only 23-6ºc but 55% humidity, so I feel you on the impending rain that never happens thing.

that's EXCESSIVELY HOT. good lord. and then the humidity is just... UGH. even if the temp is bearable the humidity makes it so much worse. i'm glad you survived, but BLEH.
