THERE WERE SO MANY KIDS OH MY GOD. it was really fun, tho.

now i want to know if ancient romans washed their hands after they used the toilet! altho they didn't know how disease spread, and they were all basically just washing and reusing the same toilet paper, so maybe not.

The most amazing thing about Rome's ancient sewage system is that it's still in use and still works. I mean, so impressive! The Cloaca Maxima living up to its name...

Wow that Halloween sounds actually enjoyable. I'm really not into it, here in the UK it was a very small thing when I was growing up - duck apples and that was about it, and the encroachment of a US style 'festival' just feels so driven by selling this that and the other, I can't be doing with it. But those fancy dressers really made the effort - I love that mini fridge girl! What a star!

roman engineering is something else, seriously. they knew how to build shit. and, uh, wash shit out of the city. :D

i totally get that other countries wouldn't necessarily want to import american type holidays, but halloween seems like a fun one. at bottom it's just an excuse to wear a costume and beg for candy. (which is pretty capitalist, i totally agree, but little kids! in costume! SO CUTE.) this year was kind of a lot, tho.
