Moving is imminent - exciting! VHS tapes - oh lordy. We have a bunch too. I was looking at them yesterday and wondering what to do with them. Charity shops don't want them as nobody buys them any more, but it hurts me to put them in a bin. We're hanging onto ones we recorded ourselves that are things that you can't find on DVD or online, but they are just gathering dust and probably won't even play.

Hmm hats. Sometimes I wish they'd come back in fashion.

there's a place somewhere around here (meaning this end of the state - i don't actually know where they are) that recycles videotape, like the actual tape, and developmentally delayed folks weave it and make things out of it. i don't think they take random individual donations, tho. if my vcr still worked it would make sense to keep mine, but it doesn't, so i feel weird. but there are some i just can't get rid of.
