today i got my splint off - and the first thing i did was SCRATCH MY LEG OH MY GOD - my skin is so dry and flaky, it's gross and embarrassing - and now i'm in a boot which isn't significantly different except i can take it off for, uh, scratching and physical therapy. i also got the stitches out, which you wouldn't think would be that traumatic ( ( Read more... )

Oh that is so cool about the Little Free Library.

Congrats on getting the cast off! Getting the walking boot is the best/worst thing- huzzzah for freedom! and blargh, what happened to my leg? I remember it from when I broke my leg a few years ago.

they're on every continent now. how cool is that? altho i kind of wonder how often that one is refilled, since it's not like a lot of people are going to wander by it all the time and think "oh, i can put some books in there".

i still can't put weight on my foot, tho. i think the change from splint to boot is so i can get physical therapy and start rotating my ankle some. oh man, i bet recovering from a broken leg is THE WORST.

Love the Little Free Library in the Antarctic!

Yay for getting your cast off and the stitches out. Being able to scratch is so necessary.

December is just flying by!

being able to scratch is so underrated! also if i take the boot off i can move my foot a tiny bit, which is pretty exciting.

I'm glad your leg is mostly free again!

And surgery with stiches/etc.-- how awful for something that should never have happened in the first place. :(

my foot is free! i also take the sock off every so often to let my skin breathe (the incision is ugly but like everything else i think that's normal). now if it could just be february already so i could put weight on it and go to the grocery store for myself....
