(lake placid was on before. it's a dumb movie but it has bill pullman and brendan gleeson and bridget fonda and oliver platt and betty white, and some of the dialogue is fun. now i'm watching spider-man: homecoming because i need background noise and if i watch more babylon berlin i have to pay attention to the subtitles. i keep yelling at tony ( Read more... )

i like to think that greg rucka and gina prince-bythewood have already started talking about the next one, altho who knows when they'll be able to actually make it. and i appreciate the vote of confidence, but i think all i have in me is the one ficlet. i'm perfectly happy to let other people do the writing.

I love Lake Placid. It's cheesy and kind of terrible, but great at the same time.

Quynh's story... makes no sense whatsoever. Logically speaking anyway. Even *if* rust wasn't an issue she'd have a few minutes before drowning and she could punch her coffin thing and after a few million punches she'd have damaged it to the point she could escape. But oh well.

it's such a cheesy movie! but so fun. betty white is the best pissy little old lady.

it looks like the coffin was designed to keep a person's arms at their sides, so quynh wouldn't have enough leverage to punch it. but the lack of rust is a totally valid inconsistency. i hadn't even thought of that. unless! she did manage to punch her way out after banging at it for five hundred years, and that's how she escaped.
