today i was so tired of having hair on my neck that i pulled it into a ponytail with a twist tie, like the ones you get in a box of trash bags. i'm getting it cut next week. i'm very excited

I really don't understand the deal Booker had with Copely/Merick (not sure which he was actually working with, I assume Copely was his contact at least?) In general Booker's motivation wasn't delved into as much as I would have liked. Setting up the others to be captured like that - he'd have to know it would lead to basically torture and imprisonment for quite some time. The fact the people sent to the church blew up Booker and didn't take him was... weird. There wasn't time to make any kind of decision about it then (as in, Andy wasn't there so he stays behind to deliver her to Copely himself). I dunno. Maybe I missed something but I suspect it's a 'plot mostly works, just don't pick it apart too much' kind of thing.
i think booker dealt with copley, and copley dealt with merrick. my read is that booker is too focused on his own problems to really think it through - he loves the team ("what brings you to marrakesh?" "family." and i don't think he's being sarcastic) but he's so consumed with his own pain he can't quite think past it to what he's really consigning them to. it's not until he shoots andy and she doesn't heal that it really sinks in what he's done, i guess because it's not really real until someone he loves starts to bleed. but i still can't figure out why the commandos didn't take him from the church, unless they didn't realize he wasn't actually dead because no one told them the team can't die. someone on dw suggested he hugged a grenade to fake them out - because they didn't realize he was immortal - so they'd leave him so he could later bring andy to copley, but like you said, it had to have happened very quickly and how fast can he think? maybe faster than we're assuming. possibly we just have to handwave and not look too
babylon berlin is a german show set in berlin in the late 20s, and it has cops and porn films and politicians and drug addicts and russian communists and labor organizers and proto-nazis and ww1 vets with ptsd and a shady medical professional and the german/russian mafia and a girl who wants to be a homicide detective because she knows she'd be good at it. (she's super cute. i like her a lot.) there's a lot going on but i'm enjoying it. there are three seasons on netflix but i've only seen s1.
my steve/bucky feels aren't as strong as they used to be but they haven't gone away. the power of their tragic doomed love story is strong. :D also, you know, bucky has THAT FACE.
Hmm since I'm thinking of watching the Old Guard, maybe I can fit Babylon Berlin in too - that period in history in that particular place is an interesting one!
