i know i haven't got a hope in hell

today i was so tired of having hair on my neck that i pulled it into a ponytail with a twist tie, like the ones you get in a box of trash bags. i'm getting it cut next week. i'm very excited.

at writing group we always start off with a check-in where everyone talks about what writing/editing/thinking/etc they've done since the last meeting, and i just have 368 words of fanfic. which i wrote partly in my head tuesday and actually typed up yesterday. later, one of the women referred to the current age as the darkest timeline (it was relevant to the piece we were discussing) and one of the guys said "it can't be the darkest timeline because we have the old guard". which. well. he has a point. :D so then he and i had to tell everyone else what it is and who's in it and that DUDLEY DURSLEY is the bad guy, and i had to mention i've seen it twice since friday, and that's what the 368 words of fanfic is for.

me: it really is only 368 words, and that includes the two sentences i took out.
"not the darkest timeline" guy: is it... *voice drops* joe and nicky?
me: what do you think? :D
him: *kermitflail*

i giggled. look, it was cute. it was a digression, tho, so we went right back to discussing the actual submission.

which reminds me. i was thinking. can you smell the smoke? :D what was booker's original deal with merrick? was it for all four of them? if so, why didn't the commandos take him when they took nicky and joe? he looked dead but wouldn't they have known he wasn't actually dead, because he can't die, and that was the whole point of taking him? or! did he let them cut him open so they'd think he was dead and leave him, so he could later lead andy to copley? which would imply the deal was for everyone, because she wasn't inside the safe house and he'd know merrick would want her too.

still full of feels. i may or may not have spent an absurd length of time finding posts on tumblr when i should have been working. like, i got an actual project which is actually due by the end of the day tomorrow, plus i'm like thirty minutes from finishing the current video captioning, but... immortal battle husbands and their deeply depressed broken brother and their hard cynical boss and their fresh-faced new daughter and THEY ALL LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH. *gets a grip*

seriously, self, this is ridiculous. this is worse than when i saw catws and all i could think about was steve and bucky and their tragic doomed love story. >.< (and also ancient peggy. and natasha. and sam. and robert redford as the bad guy. and zola, holy shit. but mostly steve and bucky's tragic doomed love story.) (and also sebastian stan's fucking face.) i mean, this is nuts.

anyway. i'm losing my mind in a very familiar fannish way. it's distracting but otherwise not awful, and mostly it's a huge surprise.

i do want to get back to babylon berlin, tho.
