What I just finished reading:
engines of the broken world, which was just as creepy as advertised, with bonus weirdness i wasn't expecting. i really liked the narrative voice, and the creep was really well done.

What I am reading now:
brazen: rebel ladies who rocked the world, written and illustrated by penelope bagieu. it's basically comic ( Read more... )

Yay! I was hoping it would strike you that way.

I felt that the narrative style made the book as beautiful as it was unsettling, and that ending-- not the kind of thing you would ever expect, and also oddly beautiful.

i wasn't expecting the alternate universe, and i wasn't sure what to think about it at first, but it really added to the overall sense of ominousness and creep. i liked the ending, tho - very sad but probably the only way it could have ended.

You are very organised, thinking that far ahead. But having said that, I always get take by surprise by the BB and never have anything ready so - I really should take a leaf out of your book, shouldn't I!

i can't help it! dear-tiger calls me the plot bunny farmer. i'll probably change my mind at least once between now and whenever i decide to start actually planning and writing.

but if you write, you can't make art! and your art's really good! i mean, look at that butt. :D
