I didn't even leave my house today so I did not get to see the eclipse. Fail.

But there was a little vid of a plane flying above the clouds during the eclipse, that was neat!

What's Queen of the South?

you could've watched it online! nasa had a livestream kind of following it as it moved across the country.

queen of the south is basically the making of a drug queenpin. the pilot starts with her as this powerful, wealthy drug lord (drug lady?), and then zips back to how she was first introduced to the drug world. (she met a boy.) it's on usa and i really like it.

I made a pinhole camera out of a cereal box -- we got 81% in Texas. I

t didn't get dark, but the quality of the light changed interestingly... and since it's been disgustingly hot this summer, I was delighted to be outside for a few minutes without FULL SUN INTENSITY.

I'm bummed that I didn't manage to get eclipse glasses (the pinhole camera was only partly satisfying), but it was still nifty!!

you were more prepared than i was! 81% is a lot of eclipse. and i bet it was nice to be able to go outside and not melt.

I really need to get back to watching Preacher! Instead, I've just started (sooooo many years late) watching the BBC's Being Human. I'm rather loving it.

Damn shame about the eclipse not being that close to you. Maybe for 2024 you should take a little road trip to be in the path of it. Our next one in the UK isn't until 2090 and I'll be dead by then! LOL

i discovered the us version of being human right at the last season, so i was really confused but i liked it a lot anyway. the bbc version is good, huh? and yes, you should catch up on preacher. eventually.

the 2024 eclipse is apparently going up western new york, which is kind of a drive, but still closer than it was yesterday. you could come to the us for it!

There wasn't a lot of totality here, and technically it started at 11:06 but clouds came through at about 11:15 and it was pouring by the time it would have reached its most coverage so the whole thing was a wash. Honestly though, I wasn't really interested so... no biggie.

Killjoys is making a little less sense than I'd hoped. I do like the parallel of Johnny being Dutch's gravity while Kendry is Aneela's tether, but.. the whole Aneela/Kendry thing seemed awfully rushed and the pregnancy weird (considering how the actress is looking though I wonder if she actually is pregnant and they wrote it in. It'd be funny if they did since that'd make two SYFY shows that did that this season). Also, I want the mods to show back up. Disabled actors being disabled yet awesome and strong characters = WONDERFUL.

i'm glad we didn't have too much cloud cover. but what do you mean you weren't really interested?? blasphemy! (i like astronomical events, what can i say.)

the way they dressed and shot shot delle seyah in previous episodes, like they were being very careful not to show her baby bump, seemed very obviously "this actress is pregnant even tho the character isn't", so when delle seyah showed up massively pregnant i wasn't surprised. i didn't catch the parallel between her being aneela's tether while johnny is dutch's, but i kinda like it! i never liked delle seyah as a person but she's a good antagonist, and i do really like aneela even tho she's crazy. but she's also powerful and scary, and i can appreciate that. and yes! bring back the hackmods! how fabulous is it that the ptb cast actual disabled people as major characters for that storyline? it's so cool.

I kept the kids in during the eclipse so they didn't look at it on purpose (they would, 100%) and risk hurting their eyes. :P

that was smart. nasa had a livestream anyway, so you could still watch it.
