it's apparently a painted bus that says "muskrat" over the windshield and has giant ears and a nose. it probably belongs to a local art group or something.

fireworks were great, invasive kids not so much. good thing they were cute.

you gotta wonder what happened to all that pancake mix. did it end up in the evidence locker? did the cops just make a lot of pancakes out of it?

Yikes - I'd be annoyed if someone came and sat on my front steps too!

LOL, that bus!

when i got home from work there were a couple of older ladies sitting on the front steps who volunteered to leave when i showed up and it became clear they were sitting on the steps of a building where people actually live. i said no, they could stay there as long as i could get past them. (i could.) but by the time the fireworks started they had left.

the bus is so weird! but also kind of cool. i have no idea who it belongs to, tho.

Pancake mix....LOL! My first thought was, oh at least that's harmless, but who knows what pancake mix would do sniffed into your lungs? Ew!

That bus is fun, why didn't your rude Mom take her kids and sit them inside that? I'd have been pretty pissed off if she'd sat her brood on my front step. Cheeky mare.

i hope it ended up as a pancake breakfast for the cops. i mean, that's a lot of mix! and it would make a lot of pancakes! and cops get hungry just like normal people ( ... )

Yeah I suppose if they thought nobody was home, they'd think nobody would even notice. Maybe next year you should just go and sit on your porch yourself - occupy it! :D

What a cool thing, to have fireworks right across the street! Though I have no idea what those kids' parents were thinking. You ASK before you use other people's property as if it's a public park bench. Jeez.

Why is there a muskrat bus, and how do you know that's what it is, and how is that a thing? ;)

there's always someone sitting on the front steps for the fireworks. this is actually the second time total strangers thought it was ok to stand on the porch, but the first time it was a woman whose mom used to live in the second-floor apartment, and she and her fam were so used to coming over and watching the fireworks from mom's front porch, i guess she thought it would be ok to watch from mine. >.< she was very nice and it was my first june in the apartment, so i didn't ask her to leave. if she came back the next year, she watched from somewhere else. i probably need to stake out the porch, because random strangers might hesitate to invade it if there's already someone there.

i have no idea why the muskrat bus! it said "muskrat" over the windshield, which is how i knew it was that and not, like, a mouse bus or something. somerville is weird, i don't know.
