curling season is now over for me. :( tonight was the last game and we won! shocker. (seriously.) i made some good shots, i missed some shots, and i fell on my ass. >.< i liked my team this half and i think i might have actually learned something, possibly, but mostly it was fun. even when we lost.

elementary was likewise fun.

No summer curling league? Why?

i just hope it's good. i want people to like it, but mostly right now i want it to make sense.

my first year curling, i asked someone what curlers do over the summer - like, is there summer curling - and he said "golf". i think there's the occasional summer bonspiel, but curling's a winter sport. i mean, ice.

i do not golf. i don't know what the curling club does with the building in the summer, actually, aside from melt and drain the ice. i can't imagine it sits empty, because that seems like a waste of building, but i don't know what you'd do with it if no one's curling.

The problem with that feeling of gold stashed in the freezer, food, is that if you don't eat it.....
I found myself not wanting to eat mine because it was there, stored, I'd done that, and it was good. If I ate it, it'd be gone. Horder.

i feel that way about my girl scout cookies! i have a box of thin mints and a box of shortbread in the freezer, and while i want to eat them, if i do, they'll be gone and i won't have any more! there's A LOT of soup, tho.

my guess is that during the warmer months, curlers want to do their sports hobbies outside. and you can't curl outside in the summer. and anyway, if you could do it all year, it wouldn't be special. :D

i posted a link to car curling a couple days ago! hee. we don't have the space to shove old soviet cars across a sheet of ice, tho.

russians are so weird.
