The pecan one sounds delicious, but I'm not a huge fan of cream pies.

Though, depending on the number of people going to the dinner and the availability of ingredients and time, why not do both?

it looks more custardy than creamy, but yeah, the pecan sounds soooo gooood. there are only going to be eight people at most, tho, so two pies is probably overkill.

!!! i'd say it's not hard and you should totally do it, but everyone tells me pie crust is easy and yet i'm afraid of it, so.

I have made a real pie exactly two times. The first time, it was glorious. The second time, it was so-so. I've been meaning to make a sweet potato pie since that is my favorite and just never get around to it.

Personally, I always think a party is never the time to do a totally new recipe. Plus! Bourbon. So I vote that.

you might be right. i want to use the opportunity to make something i've never made before, but what if it fails or no one eats it? (well, no one besides me. because i am so going to eat something that tastes like creme brulee.)

Yeah, creme brulee. What a strange, unpopular flavor. No one likes that. :)

Sugar cream pie. Definitely. I've usually just heard it called sugar pie, but it's the same animal. It's incredibly delicious. Really freaking hard to find in California, so when I see it, I gorge.

Congrats on curling victories!
