thank you, scotus, for legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide.

Honestly I'm kind of shocked it's Cal. doing that. They're the worst culprits of that kind of crap, and I can say this having lived in Hippie Town for all those years.

you're surprised they're trying to mandate vaccinations? i figured it's because of the measles outbreaks. like, someone finally saw sense.

There are (very loud) people there who basically believe that it's their right to let their kids get measles. Better that than- IDK, the govt turning them into two headed Republican monsters with autism or some shit. And those very loud people have a lot of money and they vote.

I'm PLEASANTLY surprised. But yeah, I am surprised. Hang out for a day in Marin County, you'll totally get where I'm coming from.

There's SO MUCH I miss about No. Cal. but those folks? Not one of them.

Thank you for actually explaining what happened - I noticed a lot of rainbows in likley (LJ, DW) and unlikley places (amazon, ravelry) yesterday, but since I'm in Europe and didn't watch the news I didn't know exactly what was going on (though I guess it was a US thing, because otherwise it wouldn't gone that viral). So this post was really welcome. But what's the SC in SCOTUS (after watching West Wing I know what POTUS stands for, though ;) ) Senate & Congress?

a bunch of rainbow icons suddenly appeared on twitter, too. friday was pretty much wall-to-wall rainbow. it was great. and yeah, totally a us thing, altho i saw some acknowledgement and congrats from non-americans on twitter and tumblr.

the "sc" in scotus stands for "supreme court". we've got potus, flotus, and scotus. they're fun to say. :D (i love that you learned us government terms from the west wing. tv is good for something!)

Supreme Court - that makes a lot of sense! And yes, the phrase 'POTUS fell off his bike in the pilot episode is forever etched into my brain. And I think I learnt a lot about US goverment in general from that show. Hell, I even know what a filibuster is..... :D
