the new part-time receptionist theoretically starts march 2! which i will believe when she actually shows up. she'll be there three full days and i guess part of a fourth day, which means i might still have to sit at the front desk a day and a half. (the office manager says "we might have to make a rotating schedule" which, again, i'll believe ( Read more... )

Holy crap, those pics are incredible. There's more ice than snow in the streets here these days, but those river shots are something else. If it weren't so angry!cold, I'd take a walk by the water and check it out myself.

"Snizzle" is an adorable word.

i'd almost rather have snow. i mean, ice is scary. altho those pics of ice-covered buildings in philly and brooklyn are really pretty.

SNIZZLE. it's fun to say, too. i don't even mind the actual thing, mostly because there's never enough of it to really stick.

BWAHAHAHA - bigfoot!

Cannot wait for The Vikings! It's been too long. I need my Floki!

I'm totally perplexed by that well-written article. Women have been hermits long before men....there are zillions of women living alone on their own. Women outlive men, we are the midwives for the dying. Then we are all on our own. Where does that author think the idea of the fairy tale witch derives from? I found the article to be WRONG. (capitalized letters for emphasis ;) ) Write a story about a female hermit, C!

a yeti!!! Damn!

We don't have TV so we'll have to catch up Saturday night. Can't wait! What else do you watch????

Yeah, but her research was flawed and her anti-male rant tired. Still, fantastically well-written. What about Ted Kazinski?

we have yeti! i was so amused.

what other tv do i watch? sleepy hollow (which is now only occasionally batshit), agent carter, justified, the 100, the americans, the blacklist, elementary, and grimm. i have to catch up on constantine and criminal minds, and as soon as hannibal comes back i'll watch that too. i kind of watch gotham, by which i mean i have it on in the background while i do other stuff.

ted kazinski might not count on account of, you know, he wanted to blow people up.

HOLY SHIT THAT'S A LOT OF SNOW. i've seen exactly one person shoveling snow off a roof, and she was standing on a garage, but it's a big problem. apparently buses were diverting around a building near me last night, out of fear that it was going to collapse from all the snow on it. your relatives were smart to get someone to clear it.

it's not brutally cold, at least.... i mean, it's still double-digit temps.
