Yeah, I'll still be in WA. But hey, it's likely that I'll land if not in Boston then around that area within the next two years. A lot of clinical sites are over there. Will keep you informed :D

my parents will probably be in sarasota or environs in january and february and if so i plan to visit them, but that's probably no good either. we do have some good medical facilities around here, tho....

I so wish I was going to Wincon, but Orlando's too far to go by car or train, sadly. Not that I'd have the money for it even if it was in my backyard. Which it totally should be someday. Hershey, PA for Wincon '16!

yeah, orlando's a wee bit far from you if you want to drive. i wanted it to be in boston, personally, but we could do a lot worse than hershey. i mean, chocolate!

The Hershey Lodge is actually a convention center, and that late in October wouldn't be a huge tourist draw. The Park would be open for Halloween in Hershwy, and there are ghost tours in Gettysburg and Lancaster and probably Harrisburg too. It wouldn't be a bad place to hold it, all things considered.

i bet there are ghost tours in gettysburg! those would be interesting. the big thing would probably be whether or not there's a major airport and how hard hershey is to get to.

one of my coworkers went to hershey park with her family last december. i was totally weirded out that it was open that late in the year, but she had a great time. they made chocolate bars.

I so envy you for going to a con :(. somehow I would need that but I don't have the money this year (and the only con I would be interested in is quite a challenge to go to ...). So, *sigh*, happy for you.
Well, I think the biggest treatment did Bryan Fuller last SDCC about fanfics (and I thought the own fanfic being mentioned by an EP would be the cream but I was so wrong) ... and after I took now the challenge to collect all Grimm-fics on daily base I sort of disagree but I also think it depends. There are teenies out there only writing for the fame among their own group. After that's fading they are leaving and years later you hear them then: "When I was about *insert tiny age here* I was used to write myself". And there are those who actually starting writing with fanfics, licking blood of how much fun writing actually is (did I just say that? REALLY?) and will jump from fanfic to writing down their own stories at one point. Ya, I'm that kind of a bitch - sometimes.

it helps that wincon is cheap as cons go. i mean, it's not a professional con and we don't have actors or anyone, so registration is comparatively cheap. it sucks that the one you want to go to is such a pain. :( (i think one year we did get someone from germany! altho i'm pretty sure she was british and either working or going to school in germany.)
