When I said a lot of my research was visual, I wasn't kidding. Some of the reference I saved was for mood and general idea, and some of it was for actual physical representation of what things and places looked like. (If you've seen petite-madame's art already, Toulouse-Lautrec's In Bed might look familiar. :D )

Forty-five pics back here )

Eeeee, these are so pretty, so cool and so great for creating the atmosphere and the mental picture for, say, someone who's never been there :D I looooove your idea of including your visual aids and references. I also collect those for every fic, probably like everyone, and I wish more people would post them. Awesome sauce. (I'm trying to escape pharmacology and crab-walking toward your fic, like, oh let me just open it in a tab and not look at it, nope, gonna study and not look at any fics, I'll just have it there as a promise of future reward, yup! It's a complicated attempt at self-deception.)

this is the problem with writing fics set in places (and at times) you can't actually visit - you end up with a shit-ton of visual reference just so you know what everything is supposed to look like. kind of fun, occasionally frustrating. i wish more people would post their visual aids too! it's a neat look into an author's head and writing process. like author's notes.

(not that i want to take you away from studying or anything, but you could, you know, read it a chapter at a time, between pharmacology and whatever else. :D )

It needs to be a new fandom trend with fics :D

I am going to read it, I swear. I'm just figuring out a bad attention problem with these lectures, and what I can and cannot do and when. Managed beautifully yesterday. If I can maintain that perfect discipline and focus, there would be plenty of time to read fic in between!

visual reference and author's notes! more bigbangs should have author's notes. (i swear i only started posting pics because i'd found all of these cool pics of early 30s cars for my first bang, and the second bang had so god damn many people in it i thought i needed a cast page. and by then it was a habit.)

you'll read it when you read it. you have more pressing shit to do. i totally get it. now go study. :D
