yeah, but i have absolutely zero handle on steve or bucky. (especially pre-winter soldier bucky.) i could write about boys - i might even be able to write about boys in brooklyn! - but they wouldn't be those boys, aside from a nice physical resemblance. but someone should totally write it.

so i may have actually written a thousand words of this thing. (that's probably about as much as i can do without going wildly ooc and having to turn it into original fic.) would you mind giving it a once-over? because i have no idea what i'm doing. it even has bonus commandos, because apparently i am incapable of writing original characters into an au, and i needed to give steve and bucky some friends to meet at a bar.

i've pretty much stopped reading any kind of fic, it actually unsettles me to read fic that is not 100% canon compatible or even where somebody has an interpretation of how characters would interact or what they would say outside of how i see them. Which is no fun, i know, but i can't get over the "no that's WRONG" feeling. ugh, so many of my wonderful and talented friends write (including you), i like to read original writing/characters a lot <3

that's how i feel too - i have my own ideas of who the characters are, and i don't want to read fic that contradicts it. it would just be a lot of "you're wrong and you need to sit there in your wrongness and be wrong". sometimes i feel like a bad fan because i'm just not interested in reading any of the fic. there's enough good original fic that i don't feel deprived.
