slightly fewer feels than previously
first, happy slightly late birthday to janedavitt! writer, fangirl, neopetter. (that's a word, right?) i hope it was a good one! with cake!

second, today's winter soldier/bucky barnes feels are brought to you (as per usual) by tumblr. fucking tumblr. >.<
third, i met gnomi for lunch and we bent each other's ears about this, that, and the other thing (lots of tv, because that's who we are) and when we really should've been going back to our respective jobs i was all "and i read this thing on tumblr and AIGH, FEELS". look, there was this contemporary au idea on tumblr, and last night i was chatting with wrenlet and mentioned that i love the idea of people sticking magnets to bucky's arm, and she said he needs a set of swear word magnetic fridge poetry, and say one day steve is sticking words on him and won't let bucky look until he's done, and it turns out to be this silly little rhyme and steve has written "burma shave" on two blank magnets at the end. (which i think is a reference bucky would actually get.)
but mostly i was thinking about the au, steve making sure their apartment door is locked and bucky leaning against the railing in the stairwell, going "c'mon, rogers, c'mon" in this fond, patient voice.
(i'm not generally a big fan of au's - unless they're rpf au's - if there's an idea i think is cool, mostly i just want to know that it exists somewhere. i don't necessarily want to read it. but that one, i'd read.)
i warned gnomi that i was feeling really chatty, and then i didn't shut up. >.< i need more fellow fen who live near me, because as nice as it is to read shit on tumblr and have conversations on lj and twitter, sometimes you just need to sit down with someone and squee and flail and have all the feels in person.
sally field outswears julia roberts in a swear-off. all the cursing is bleeped out, which i think kind of defeats the purpose, but totally worth watching for julia roberts being totally flustered and sally field being matter-of-fact as hell.
so this guy built a seven-foot serenity out of lego. it took him fourteen months and here's a time-lapse video of the process. shiny!
