i think i watched part of the pilot and it didn't grab me, but i also watched the halloween episode from either this season or last season - the one where castle dressed up as captain tightpants - and i really liked it. i'm not sure why i couldn't get into it earlier, tho. i mean, nathan fillion! and apparently all the supporting characters are really good and it seems kind of silly and fun and not like it's taking itself too seriously and i think the only thing keeping me from watching it is all the catching up. because i suck at catching up on past seasons unless there are a lot of reruns. (which is how i caught up on three and a half seasons of criminal minds in a couple months.)
the fact that someone compared the relationships on it to peter and elizabeth from white collar can only work in its favor, too.
The supporting characters are awesome. And no, the show doesn't take itself too seriously. Except when it does. But when it does, it does a really good job. It really is one of my favorite shows. It makes me happy whenever I watch it, and Beckett is one of my favorite kick-ass women on TV. :D
I'd never heard of that website, so I saved a link to it. One of the things I always liked best about the Sue Grafton novels ("A Is For Alibi," etc.) was when the main character wound up living in a refurbished garage. Built-in stacked washer&dryer, kitchen island, bedroom as an upstairs loft over the kitchen. Compact and utterly perfect. \o/
