it sounds kind of like they'll replace jj with another woman - a "fresh face", which probably means "hottie" - but they're still reducing prentiss' screen time.

i hope the suits are listening and taking notes. i mean, fan outcry can bring shows back from the dead, it should be able to convince the ptb of their stupidity.

(i really, really, really don't want to think this is bernero's idea, or that he's a-ok with it. the show so far has been comparatively fab in the way it treats female characters - crime victims/survivors, secondary characters, recurring characters, main characters - and i find it kind of hard to believe bernero would just toss away two really good, really strong leading ladies without either of the actresses actively wanting to leave.)

aj's contract wasn't renewed, and cbs wants to reduce the number of episodes paget's in. they've said it's for financial reasons, in which case why are they only cutting the women? but also apparently it's for "creative reasons" and to "freshen up" the series, so they'll be getting a new actress to replace aj. a lot of people (me included) are reading "new actress" as "someone younger and sexier".

there's a blurb here and also a petition to help keep aj and paget on the show.

also? that icon is very, very appropriate.
