"Gone in Sixty Seconds" got panned in reviews at the time which always seemed unfair to me as it's one of the more watchable Jerry Bruckheimer projects. I always figured it was revenge for not beating him up sufficiently for things like "Coyote Ugly" and "Con Air" (When's the last time you felt like popping one of those in the DVD player? :)

it's not a great movie but it's so much fun and yes, very watchable. definitely better than con air, which i really only watch for john cusack. nicolas cage's accent in that movie makes me cringe. and i've never seen more than ten minutes of coyote ugly, maria bello notwithstanding. (because i like her, but not that much.)

The link reminds me, though, I watched Shortbus the other night, and really enjoyed it. It's by John Cameron Mitchell, who also did Hedwig and the Angry Inch, but it might be hard to find for rent because, uh, it has LOTS of nudity. And depictions of sex that look an awful lot like actual sex, and I'm not going to Google right now because yes, I'm at the office, but I seem to recall controversy about a blowjob?

But anyway. An odd-ish film about relationships and sex and orgasms.

rich the coworker tried to get me to see that, back when it came out. i mostly remember all the "OMGSEX" reactions to it, good and bad. i don't remember the blowob controversy, tho. hm. sex is not the enemy is a little less, er, fraught.

cm crossovers! are they any good? i've never seen a whole episode of ncis. i'm starting to think i might be missing out. i bet it crosses over nicely with cm, tho.

alas...they are sort of more -character- study type things.....as i discovered after ...which if you only know -half- of the characters..are slightly less amusing...

haha...you need to watch ncis...but should really start back in season one....since so much of it is character based and not just the episodic plot based....makes it slightly harder to get into unless you go back...

I was just thinking...maybe I should watch CM....but i need another tv show like I need a whole in the head....I really try to limit it

you should totally watch cm. :D it's in its fifth season but you don't necessarily need to start at the beginning, altho it helps to have someone you can ask questions of, if you need to be clued in to something. because some stuff carries over from season to season.
