first,
snowflake_challenge is back! yay. :D
challenge #1 - update your info!
- Transformative Works Policy: it's on my ao3 profile and master list posts on both lj and dw, and is, basically, go nuts. :D you don't have to ask permission first but let me know what you did so i can a. squee, and b. share.
- Current Passion curling? because the second half of the season starts for me next sunday. other stuff i like includes lotr (the movies more than the books), star wars, food, frank lloyd wright buildings, cross stitch, comics, the neighborhood dogs, and snow.
- Where to Find Me: here, obvs, but i'm
tsuki_no_bara on dw and babbleismysuperpower on tumblr. - Master List: a lot of the fanfic is on ao3 and the master list is on dw. (that's got all the original fic and the podfics.)
- Anything Else: i'm 99.44% sure my sister gave me a ball of mozzarella yesterday and I CAN'T FIND IT.
second! i did finally watch nope and make red velvet cupcakes, both on friday. i also went to the holiday market and got
tamalinn to meet me there - it was like 60º and sunny which on the one hand was really nice to be out in and on the other it was december in massachusetts and that kind of weather is wrong. i had an empanada and a hot cider and some cider doughnuts and got fresh air and walked in the sun and it was all good. and then i picked up my new glasses and... i can't really see. i don't remember if i bitched about the sunglasses but something's wrong with the prescription because my eyes want to cross to put anything at a distance into focus - they're trying to resolve two images into one - and i should not have to work hard to be able to see. the guy at the store said to wear the glasses for a couple days to try and get used to them so i'm doing that, and it's a little better but still not great. so tomorrow i'm going to call and try to make an appointment with the eye doctor for a new eye test because this is absurd. i like the frames, tho.
nope was good, by the way. a tch creepy but i didn't have to turn the lights on. it's kind of a quiet movie with a very small scale and some of it is very tense and i liked it and i'm glad i saw it.
saturday i made frosting and then delivered a bunch of red velvet cupcakes. they went over well. i went to my sister's for nye so we could watch lotr and stuff our faces. we only got through fellowship and half of the two towers and had to finish the series yesterday. and i had today off so i could sleep late and go to the grocery store and drive my roommate to her parents' house so she could borrow their toaster oven. and now i seem to have lost a ball of cheese and it's VERY WEIRD.
third! a very important thing i forgot to mention in my year end post, so i remember it in years to come - elon musk said he'd buy twitter, backed out, was forced into going through with it, and is now basically fucking around and finding out. his twitter policies are even driving down tesla stock, to the point he's no longer the richest man in the world. if you squint really hard you can see the world's smallest violin playing my heart bleeds for you.
fourth!
colls is running
fannish fifty - a 2023 posting challenge, wherein you make fifty posts about fannish stuff (hence the name :D ). it seems appropriate to put that in a snowflake post. i've been having shall we say commitment issues so i make no promises, but it looks like fun.
