doesn't matter the fandom, or the pairing, or the plot. to you, it was simply awesome. in general, why would you recommend this fic to your flist?

I read a modern AU Merlin/Arthur fic earlier this week that was simply wonderful. It was funny, schmoopy, but with the right amount of angst. I'm a sucker for a good love story.

I usually rec a fic if it's so wonderful that I feel compelled. Mostly because typing one handed sucks so the motivation has to be excellent.

I think the first and primary reason for me to do so, is if I saw the fic was getting little or no feedback, or was overlooked, even though it deserves much more attention than it's getting.

liking the plot/fic itself goes without saying*g*

I meant that when I really like a fic, either for the plot, or the way the characters are written, it's more likely for me to actually rec it, if the fic in question isn't already recced all over, and hasn't got dozens up to hundreds of reviews.

If it's something that really floors me and I can tell the writer really put a lot of thought and time into it then i'll probably rec it.

I don't really have specific reasons. If I loved it, I'll rec it. Although I'm usually too lazy to do recs...

and LOL.... i know what you mean... i'm quite lazy. i rarely post recs these days, but the one that i did rec just did it for me.
