I think it's Sam, too, just Sam. And I wanted to get behind him and push him all the way to the front door and make him knock! LOL!
I thought Chuck was God because he poofed at the end, and because he has always represented Kripke to me. He's the writer, he created these characters and plays with them every week, and the actors are expected to put their faith in him. :D I think the poofing was symbolic for Eric vacating the showrunner seat to take on a different role for the show. And some of Chuck's final words were meant as his farewell to the fans, and his reassurance to them that everything is going to be okay.
Or maybe I'm just reading WAY too much into it. ;)
see, i could say it's Sam, but then it's Lucifer. or i could say it's Lucifer, but then it turns out to be Sam. i'm always wrong. heh.
yeah, i agree with you about Chuck. there were some comments in ppl's posts about ragging on the fandom again, but i just kinda smiled at he. heh. and agreed to Eric saying goodbye as showrunner.
nah, i'm good at reading in to stuff too. and i'm usually wrong, too.
Chuck not only poofed at the end, but did you notice him wearing a crisp, white shirt in his final scenes. Chuck's always been kind of a scruffy dresser, usually clad in an old robe while he's writing. I think the wardrobe change was another indicator that he is/might have been God
( ... )
I think that Chuck was only God when he was writing the very end, when he was wearing white and was all sobered up. But I don't think he was God all the time and will be God all the time. Or maybe we were all to believe that he was God, but really wasn't. xD
I'm quite undecided between the was it Sam or Lucifer question... As you said, it was missing the Lucifer-cockiness, but on the other hand I was missing Sam there too (if that makes sense). I think Sam would've showed more emotion upon seeing Dean. So for me, both theories are valid.
And I agree with what you said about all the Season being about Sam and Dean. For me it too always was about their relationship.
It HAS to be Sam! Standing there taking it all in and trying to decide what's next. But as you pointed out, we don't know how much time has passed and what changes the boys have gone through. It's obvious that Dean is still missing Sam but that will always be the case.
I agree with your comments on Chuck/God/Kripke too.
