Well, this doesn't surprise me at all. I wrote you feedback on this story already, but let me just say again how much I liked it! It was one of my favorite stories in the challenge. I've got it printed out for further enjoyment. *g*
Heh. I was reading it and going 'I think I know who wrote this...'. ;)
It's encouraging to me to see that of the four stories I got around to reccing while the challenge was ongoing (due to my slowness, not the lack of quality of the fic), three of them were by writers whose stuff I usually like anyway and I still liked them without knowing who wrote them! I feel vindicated in my reccing now. :)

painless_j, that was the downright funniest exchange I've seen on LJ for a very long time! I'm still smiling here about it, although I hope smiling with you. :)
Oh, it was brilliant. But thank you for the rec, again!

I think it was horribly obvious! But a fun thing to write. I know what you mean about so may fics - I've managed the SS/HP, and am only just moving onto SS/RL. But Lush Life was the first HP/DM I've ever enjoyed...pir8fancier, crumbs. What a writer!
My two cents (which you should ignore, prob): I don't think the paperclip simile there at the end belongs to any particular person. I've read many fics where there are passing comments about how bent back or folded the bottom man is, in a face-to-face position, yes. Perhaps even the paperclip simile used, too. But it's such a common way of describing the position that as far as I'm concerned, it's common property. You can't (and shouldn't, IMO) try to copyright ideas, as I've commented to you before.
I'd leave it in there.
I reread BS while on vacation, btw (it was one of the stories I downloaded into my laptop, before I left). I sometimes revisit a story I beta'ed much later, when I can finally see it as a whole, and not the way I normally think of it (which is in chunks, and thinking about its various versions, overlapping in my mind). Enough time has passed that I could read it as if it were fresh, to me.
That story really holds up well on rereading, Jay. The onstage development of their interaction was even better

Still short of time. I know I owe you an e-mail - it may be a while. This is my second busiest week of the year - next week is my busiest. Also other work stuff, hm. Update next week.
Ack two things - yes. BS...I am proud of. :) But I have to tell you - I was re-reading it myself last week (which is not something I do often) and in reading, it became very clear just how much you had added to the story with your comments and insistence on clarity. There are three phrases - I know them! - which are your words, not mine, and in each case they make the story much clearer and easier to follow for the reader. Thank you. Ack, you know what I think about Nettle Soup - it is a nice thing, with charm, and I hope at least near to leni_jess's request. But it does not have the emotional pull or layers of BS. Next time!
Also...yes, I did notice your original comment on intellectual property. I was keeping a polite silence, in the hopes that you would realise...I am not at all bothered about copyrighted ideas. :) Once something is public, it's public. For

Should I say this quietly? I had been looking forward to something a bit different, but I did enjoy writing NS...
