Lovely! Jared's dissertation would have won me over, but others need a bigger (dragon-sized) nudge. ;-)

Whew this story is lovely. Just incredible. The language, the world-building, the gorgeous and vivid characterization, all of it. You are single-handedly turning me into a diehard fan of Jared and creature!Jensen's epic interspecies romance, with this story and Wolflord! Still enjoying the daily fics immensely and very much looking forward to more :)

So glad you're still enjoying these! And if you have gained a liking for creature!fic, bewaretheides15, lexicale and morrezela have some absolutely suberb stories. I'm also really fond of riyku's Tilting at Windmills - it actually has a very similar premise to this one (great minds, clearly!) but a different point of view and some absolutely stunning descriptions, a lovely piece of writing.

... only today to go: I must admit that I hope it's all gone smoothly from from your side, but I'm beginning to flag! Beta doro, though, is still absolutely rock-steady and amazing. Very glad you're still enjoying these stories - lovely to know you've been here for the whole trip!

shoofus, if you're still awake, stop everything RIGHT NOW and read oschun's I Think Therefore I Am. It's an absolutely stunning piece of fiction, beautifully constructed and beautifully written - I thought it was amazing. I think you might like it too.

- glad you liked this one.

Gah, I absolutely should NOT be reading this, I have no time. And yet your fic is a siren song to me and I am helpless to resist.

But in addition to that... DRAGONS. How could you expect me to wait one minute longer?

Honestly, your world-building is beyond compare. Every small detail is perfect, the world is completely realized and yet never bogs down in exposition or overwriting. And you hit every one of my scholarship!kinks with the cleverly crafted one-sided correspondence and description of the academic journals/research and Jared's maneuvering through the University's politics.

And then there is the wonderful rescue scene, the slow-build of their relationship, the dropped hints of Jared's true nature, and the dramatic revelation of Jensen's real form. *treasures each tiny building-block*

JUST. AHHHHH. BRAVA. BRAVISSIMA.

deirdre_c, I'm so, so sorry to be late replying to you. (Writing, deadline, gift fic.) And oh yes, I understand so very well no time vs. the siren call of fic! So... I cannot help but be quietly happy that you snatched the time to read this particular story and that it was worth the snatching. It was such fun to write - I mean, dragons! - but also, yes, absolutely, books and libraries and writing and words... not something I can do very often in J2 RPS and al the more fun to write because it's rare for me here.

I'm so very, very glad you liked it too.

- and hope very much all is well with you and yours.

It's an AU of Jensen and Jared and it's an AU of a particular time in Earth's history! I really enjoyed watching the tyranny of the academic class unfold and thought the first part of the fic, in particular, was amazing. Jensen sure had a way with words :D

Tiny mistake on the header on your webpage: Jared his been studying dragons...

Laughing - spot on. I like this AU business, especially when it comes with dragons!

- there were discussions about 'his' that spanned several e-mails and a couple of conversations - ridiculous, because I am both awful at and cavalier about spelling. (Honestly, I love the brave people that beta for me so, so much.) It's the prompter's spelling. So... do you leave it as it is, or do you edit? We left it, but I'm still not sure we did the right thing!

- more than glad you liked this one. :)

Oh, didn't realise it was the prompter's spelling. It makes sense to leave it then. Prompts on memes are like tiny time capsules of desire; you don't mess with that!
