I hate to come off like a prick here, but I kind of think you're developing Naoto way too fast for what canon has her as. From what I've seen, you've made her incredibly over-sexual and far too comfortable with her body than what canon shows to the very end.

Also, Naoto seems far too laid back about the bad guys of the community. If nothing else, canon shows Naoto to be incredibly focused on doing everything she can to bring the bad guys to justice, including sacrificing her own safety to get to the bottom of things. I kind of feel as if you've made Naoto unrecognizably weak. Maybe that's harsh, but for someone who started off so well as a character, you've really fallen.

Sorry if that sounds mean or anything, I don't mean to insult you or anything, even if it really comes off as it. You're wonderful to play with and stick very securely to canon most of the time... but sometimes you get waaaaay off base with the way you play her.

I appreciate the fact that you're the first person to offer some constructive criticism, and I'll make sure to keep these points in mind as I work on a canon review, especially for the Fortune Social Link ( ... )

This is probably a nit-pick, but I feel it should be addressed. I've noticed in Naoto's IC texts that they seem a bit too relaxed. It's as if it's one of the other Investigation Team members are texting, not her. Her texts would be as proper as she is. Correct punctuation, capitalization, the whole nine yards. It's a reflection of her personality. I hope that this isn't too much of a bother to you.

Thanks for addressing that. Normally, she does use proper grammar, but oddly enough, if you choose the Lover's path for Naoto in the game and receive a text from her for the Christmas Eve date, it's in text speak! I could probably get a screen cap for you, if need be, but for my own characterization, I do have her tend toward complete sentences and proper punctuation.

If this is a reference to the "think sexy thoughts" text that Kanji received, well... she's a bit too distracted to spell check.

I KNOW! I almost did a spit-take when I saw that! Now I really have to find a screencap of it!

Fffffffft... Typing one-handed can be kinda hard, yanno?

My apologies if this appears harsher than my intention, but there are a few things about your characterization of Naoto that have struck me as unfortunately off-course ( ... )

I appreciate you taking the time to leave such detailed crit for my character, and would like to clarify a few points, the first of which involves the threads at the Christmas party. I would not have involved my character in such actions if I weren't prepared to play through the consequences of said actions ICly. You said that: Much more, barely considering the consequences of her actions or feeling "mildly" guilty after. I think if you direct your attention to the following thread, you'll find that she's incredibly guilty about her indiscretion. The consequences of her actions have yet to be played out, but she is going to come clean with Kanji and the Elric Brothers, and would have done so, even without Winry's urging.

I do have some issue with the reasons you stated why Naoto would not become close to the FMA cast. While it's true that Naoto values intelligence in her allies, that's not the only quality she admires in others. By your reasoning, Naoto should not be close to Chie, Rise, Kanji, or Teddie because they're not "smart ( ... )

I can sort of give you the benefit of the doubt regarding the whole Ed/Winry/Al deal; nobody is saying that Naoto can't make friends, or even that she's not well-equipped to be making them. Although I don't personally stalk every thread with Naoto, and do not require hard evidence from you on the matter, I would still say as someone who follows the cast here even casually that the development seemed rather excessively fast-tracked. To be honest, no matter how close Naoto might become with Ed for instance, I would never personally consider her treating them as genuine family so relatively quickly to be "IC." Around the time when Naoto first started referring to them as her brothers or whatnot, I was more than a bit confused as to that overall development ( ... )

After deliberating with the other players involved in the Christmas thread, we have decided it would be in the best interests of everyone involved to recton those threads and summarily deleting them. Those players who were directly involved in those threads gave me their express permission to do so, and those aware of the threads have been informed of my decision to retcon them.

I will admit that Naoto's involvement with Greed during the Christmas event was an egregious break in her character, hence my decision to retcon those events, so that I might start over and get her characterization back on track.
