[Locked // Hackable]
Oh, God, I did it again, didn't I? And, apparently, I was posting to my journal at the time, too... Naoto Shirogane, how pathetic can you be? Passing out on the floor of your own bedroom. Couldn't you even drag your sorry ass the three feet necessary to crawl into bed?

My head hurts and I've got a terrible crick in my neck. ( Read more... )

I know that. And I'm not at all proud of myself when I do it, but rest assured, I don't plan to make a habit of it anytime soon.

[Locked]

And I apologize, for what I said to you before. I shouldn't presume to know anything about the man behind the mask.

Truthfully. There have been... a few members of my family who also tried to cope with their problems through alcohol. Grampa had always thought them weak and cowardly. I couldn't bear to have him think the same of me.

I think it's because I keep forgetting that there is a man behind the mask... Regardless, I said those horrible things, and now I can't unsay them. I understand if you can't forgive me...

Apples eaten on an empty stomach will help youwith that. Another of the quickest ways to cure a hangover is to make a banana milkshake sweetened with honey. The banana helps calm the stomach, and with the honey, builds up the depleted blood sugar levels. And drink a lto of water, Naoto-kun.

Do you drink like that often?

Um, thank you for the suggestions. I'll have the head cook prepare me something during breakfast.

...no. Not really.

I think the milkshake will do the trick. Don't really feel up to eating anything too heavy, you understand...

Please, don't think so little of me. I only drink on occasion, when work has been particularly trying. But I don't normally drink this much, I swear to you!

Still having a hangover? Some of that stuff up there isn't locked very well.

You put a lot of pressure on yourself, looks like.

Um, yes. I've been informed as much. I suppose I'll need to focus on my programming skills now...

I must. I'm the fifth successor to the Shirogane name, a family of detectives. I have to live up to that name, and bring honor to my forefathers.

Well, as long as you know. I could probably give you a few pointers if you want.

...this all sounds terribly familiar. You're not just doing this because of your family, are you?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

No, I... I truly feel that this is my calling. Being a detective is something I was born to do. I can't imagine myself in any other occupation. But I also want to make my family proud. We have a reputation to maintain, after all. The Shirogane name is nationally acclaimed as offering only the finest detectives.

That's good to hear. Things like that make me concerned for you.

You needn't worry about me, Issei-san. I assure you, last night's events do not bear repeating.

I believe you. That won't keep me from worrying, though.

Thank you.

And I'm glad to see that you've returned to human form. I... wasn't in much of a state of mind to notice last night...

Shirogane-san... while I'm pretty open to the benefits of drinking, in moderation, I really don't think it's appropriate for you.

...it's not like I was out roaming the streets and causing trouble. I was within the safety of my own home.

I promise, it won't happen again, Adachi-san.

But still, there's things like liver damage to consider!

Is this the first time it's happened?

I haven't done this sort of thing very often, I assure you.

Um... Well, the posting to a public forum while heavily inebriated was a first for me...
