You've lost a lot of friends over the years, haven't you?

Because of their reputation, the media over-played the report for over a month. It was all over the papers and popular magazines, too. There was no way that I could escape from the fact that they were dead, so I could do nothing but face it head on.

So you see, this is why I take my casework very seriously, sir. The best way to honor their memory is to become the best detective that I can be.

Understandable, Shirogane. I'm involved so deeply in my work for...similar reasons.

I see. You have Nanako-chan to think about. You want to make the world a safer place for your daughter, is that right?

I wonder why the community chose to showcase this particular memory... I had tried so hard to forget...

You can't forget finding out something like that. Trying won't work.

I know... That's why I always tried to focus on the memories of my parents when they were still alive. It was easier that way. Better, I think. I didn't want such painful memories dredged up again, not like this...

It's all right. I just wish the community hadn't chosen to show this particular memory...

Mmmm. I can understand that.

Maybe there's some reason why it's showing us and everyone these particular ones?

I can't imagine what that reason would be other than the fact that such memories are painful. The community can be rather sadistic... And it's not as though I've kept my parents' death a secret. Everyone learned about it after I faced my Shadow...
