I've returned to the estate. Grampa was pleased with the results of my investigation. We spent some time reminiscing together. I wish I could tell him about this community, but I don't think he'd believe me, even if I did. Best to be discreet about the time I spend here ( Read more... )

Indeed, it is. I can't imagine what their reason was for hanging the corpse upside down. It's... quite a disturbing image, akin to a crucifixion.

Nothing like this has ever happened in the Yasoinaba region before. It's a small, quiet town. But I suppose even idyllic country towns can hide the blackest of hearts.

I haven't received a summons yet. Dojima-san and Adachi-san are leading the investigation. Adachi-san seems quite confident that they'll apprehend the suspect soon, but he's not exactly reassuring. This is no ordinary murder case, I can tell that much.

I hope you don't think that this is going to distract me from my other case, Kaito Kid. I'm very good at multitasking.

This murder's pretty crazy. Nobody'll shut up about it and everybody in town's acting like their shadow is gonna eat them.

It's a normal reaction. People want to believe that, somehow, small towns are safe from these heinous crimes. They always happen to other people, in the big city.

How are you and your mother holding up?

Yeah...murder seems a million miles away from Inaba.

Alright. Ma's been locking the doors at night now so I have to sneak in through my window.

I'm no stranger to such cases, but even I was a bit shocked to discover a homicide so close to home. I've lived in the Yasoinaba region my entire life, and nothing like this has ever happened...

That's a good habit to practice. And I really must advise against going out at night. I'm telling you this, not as a detective, but as a concerned citizen.
