File 40 - Valentine's Day

Feb 14, 2010 14:43

It's apparent that this Red String of Fate is yet another virus perpetrated by the community. But as far as I know, you're only supposed to be bound to one person, right? So, why do I have so many strings? And... is there any significance attached to the particular finger a string is tied to...? Maybe I'm over thinking things...

In any case, I wasn' ( Read more... )

You have more than one string, too? Where are they all?

Well, I've been able to determine that three of them are attached to people on my world: Kanji, Souji-senpai, and Nanako-chan. But I can't figure out to whom the other three are attached. I suspect it must be someone off world.

Wow, you beat my record of four. Congratulations! I think you're officially the one with the most amount of strings now.

E-Eh...? No, that can't be right! There's probably someone out there with more strings that I!

Seems like Issei is complaining of the same thing.

Well there are a few significances for each finger but the one that stands out the most, in my culture, is the ring finger.

We're happily complaining together.

That's what I thought... The ring finger on the left hand, to be more precise...

Yes you are. Did you try to see if Cordelia wanted some?

Oh...I see.

Yes, I plan on sharing some with her. She actually made some chocolates for Hakuba and her brothers.

It's where one places the wedding band. If a string is attached to that finger... is it indicative of some deeper relationship? Like... soulmates?

I'm getting a little stressed over White Day, too. I have to get a lot of gifts this year.

I'll just put in an order for obligation chocolates. I don't know many of those girls very well, so I don't feel as though I should have to put as much effort into reciprocating. Besides, as a girl, I shouldn't have to participate, but I'm a stickler when it comes to repaying my debts.

I take it you're rather popular at your school, too?

Me, popular? N-not really. But two girls in my class gave me a lot of chocolate, so I want to give them gifts in equal value.

I see. They both must like you a lot. You want to give them the same amount in order to stem any jealous feelings?

How many strings do you have?

And thanks. I guess that kind of attention can be a little overwhelming, huh...

Um... six? One on every finger on my right hand, and one on the ring finger of my left hand. How many do you have?

I used to despise those sort of people, but now... I know they mean well. I wish I could try a little of everything, but it's just too much for one person to eat! Some one actually made some chocolate cheesecake. Can you believe it? A six inch cheesecake, just for me!

That really are a lot of strings... I have two.

Wow! Well, you can keep a little bit of everything that you want to try unless it's something like the cheesecake. And then you have plenty of friends to share with, so there's no need to worry it'll go bad.

Hm... Only two? Do you know to whom their attached?

I think that's what I'll do. That way, I won't feel bad for not personally trying a little of everything. I have plenty of room in the fridge right now.

So... do you have any particular preferences? I can send some of the surplus your way. Does Matt like chocolate?

Excuse me, but... you said you 'count' as a boy?

Oh! Erm, well... for a long time, everyone was convinced that I was a boy. I had quite a few female fans, and even after it was revealed that I was a girl, their admiration for me didn't lessen. In fact, I think they like me even more...

Oh, I see. Well, I had a phase like that too, but it looks like people's attitude towards you did not change for the worse! That's something to be glad about, I think.

A phase? Are you what most people would consider a tomboy?

Yes, it is. I've learned now that I don't need to be a boy in order to command respect. I can become a great detective, regardless of my sex. That's something that Souji-senpai and everyone has shown me...
